20-21 EN5116: Reading As A Writer

EN5116 Reading as a Writer:
Teaching: One one-and-a-half hour seminar each week in Term 2.
Aims and objectives: The principle aim of the course is to enable students to read as a writer in order to inform their own literary composition. The course draws on the theoretical reading of EN5114 Supplementary Discourses. By the end of the course students will be able to draw on the critical and theoretical approaches acquired in EN5114; will be able to read from the perspective of a writer rather than as a critic; and will be able to relate their reading to their own developing practice as a writer.
