This course provides an introduction to some of the principles of ecology, ranging from biodiversity conservation to animal behaviour. The course applies a "top-down" approach, from biomes and ecosystems to individuals, covering eight major themes: global biomes, British ecosystems, biogeochemical processes, community ecology, population and molecular ecology, evolutionary ecology, current ecological issues and behavioural ecology.
