MU3394, Special Study Composition, is taught in term 1 in weekly sessions on Mondays and/or Thursdays. The course is taught by Mark Bowden, Nina Whiteman and Tonia Ko. During the course, you will create a portfolio of three works including: a work for solo instrument, a short piece for chamber orchestra, and a more substantial piece for large chamber ensemble. The solo piece and the chamber ensemble project will be workshopped by Chroma, the department's ensemble-in-residence.
