This course studies a range of Spanish fictional texts dating from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day and considers how they draw on pre-existing ideas about women and femininity. What do they accept and take for granted uncritically and what do they challenge or critique? What has evolved in how we understand the notion of femininity and what has remained the same?
