20-21 SN1109: Comparative Hispanic Culture

The course provides a selective but wide-ranging introduction to culture in the Hispanic world from the 15th to the 21th century. It explores a broad range of cultural manifestations from different socio-historical contexts both independently and comparatively from a topic-based perspective. Materials for 2020-21 include plays, narratives, poems, paintings, sculptures and musical compositions, while our topics will be ‘Power’, ‘Discovery’, ‘Subversion’ and ‘Destruction’.
