This module provides an introduction to some key ideas and methods of classical mechanics, chaos theory and other topics in applied mathematics.

On completion of the module, you should be able to demonstrate an understanding of
Newton’s equations of motion for a single particle; use the conservation laws for energy and momentum; and understand how Newton’s equations of motion can give rise to chaotic behaviour.
