20-21 MN3285: Managing Organisational Change
Managing Organisational Change is a half-unit final year course that follows up the stream of behavioural and organisational thinking that has characterised your experiences in Management and the Modern Corporation and Human Resource Management. Your work will focus on one of the most important sets of issues that challenge modern management: the impact of the dynamic globalising business context, the adaptation of corporations – their cultures, structures and employees – to those changes, and the role of management in designing and implementing appropriate organisational changes.
The course content will be delivered largely through three-hour workshops. In these, you will be informed about academic theories and concepts and apply them to practical contexts through participative learning experiences, including group work, case studies and simulation exercises. Building on these activities, your coursework assignment will take the form of presenting and writing a group project on a real organisational change problem.
