Welcome to Cultures of Reading

In this module, you’ll be introduced to a range of texts from different historical periods, including recent prose and poetry, early modern drama, and ancient philosophy. The module is not only about how to make sense of these texts, but how and why they were composed, and the ethical or political questions they raise. In the process you will develop core skills that you will go on to use time and again throughout your degree, no matter what subject you are going on to study.
