20-21 SG1013: Applied Mathematics-Autumn Term

IFY Applied Mathematics 2020/21: September Cohort

Welcome to your course in Applied Mathematics.

Whilst you will learn some mathematical rules, it is the processes and the ability to demonstrate those processes that is the most important aspect of this course, together with developing mathematical and logical thinking.

You will study two units, Decision Mathematics and Statistics.  Decision Mathematics is an important area of mathematics for those wishing to progress to studies in computer science.  Statistics will be useful for those progressing to various science and business degrees.

If you have any general module queries, have trouble completing/uploading an assignment, or just want to discuss your progress, please contact Linda Charlton (linda.charlton@rhul.ac.uk), the Module tutor for Applied Mathematics.

If you need specific English writing help, you should speak to  your AES tutor and/or Christopher Storrs -Fox (christopher.storrs-fox@rhul.ac.uk) and they can tell you about the language support available to you.
